A man stayed out so late one night that when he quietly came into the bedroom, the cuckoo clock struck two; so he went and made the cuckoo sound ten more times.
At breakfast his wife said, "Dear, the cuckoo clock needs fixing."
"Oh, is that so?" he answered.
"Yes," she said, "last night it cuckooed two times, then it hiccupped once, and then it cuckooed ten more times!"
