Being Like A Persimmon

Inspirational And Devotional Illustrations
In the autumn time, a persimmon tree, loaded with its golden purple fruit, is a sight to behold. One is tempted to eat one of the fruit, juicy and somewhat sweet, only to discover that at this time of the year it will pucker your mouth and leave a bitter taste.
Unlike other fruit, it takes harsh freezing weather to bring out the best taste it can give. In other words, persimmons can take it, when other fruit would be lost.
Through the years I have known some people who were like a fully-mature persimmon. They have experienced hard and tough times that hurt even to one's soul, but by the grace of God they made it clear through. These persimmon-like people become more and more delightful in their maturity.
Maybe we could pray and strive to become more like a fully-ripe persimmon.
