A man had said he adored children and would do whatever he could for them. Then one day he had the concrete haulers come and pour a new concrete sidewalk in front of his house. Children nearby were curious and got into the freshly-poured concrete.
When the man found out about it, he was furious. A friend reminded him of what he had said about children. He answered: "I meant children in the abstract, not in the concrete!"
