Invariably, if you ask this question, even in a Bible study class, you will get smiles, and someone will say, "You mean Aunt Jemima?"
The "Jemima" named in the NIV translation of the Bible was the first named of three daughters and seven sons of a very well known citizen of the land of Uz. The NIV indicates that she was beautiful.
Bible scholars say her father lived in that period between the writings of Samuel and Isaiah. It is generally agreed he was an Israelite.
There were some other attractive women mentioned in Bible times, including Rebekah and Rachel.
Who was Jemima's father? Job (Job 42:14).
