It is a well-known fact that a shoe store salesman won Dwight L. Moody to Christ. That started an interesting chain of events.
Moody literally touched the hearts of a great multitude of people with his down-to-earth language set on fire for the Lord.
While Moody was in England, an English medical student, working on his doctorate, was called by God's Spirit, in one of Moody's meetings. Trained to be a medical missionary, he spent his life working with people of Labrador, he also was given the title of Sir Wilfred Grenfell. He then won John R. Mott to become a Christian.
Mott started, early in the twentieth century, the famous Student Volunteer Movement, that reached multitudes of college-age youth for Christian missions.
His leadership touched the lives of those who had a dream of a World Council of Churches. Years passed, and with the cooperation of many Christian leaders, the World Council had come into existence and continues today. And the chain goes on ...
Christianity is a connectional religion, and we who call ourselves Christians are bound together in it, regardless of denominational titles, and want to pass it on. No wonder it is one of the four great religions on Earth.
