Sixth Sunday Of Easter
Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: The Unknown God Made Known
Call To Worship
Let us call upon the name of the Lord our God, for it is a good thing to praise the one who is our maker. He is the God of justice, of hope, and of love; the one from whom we have come, by whose power we live daily, and to whom we will one day return.
Invocation
Father, we ask that during this hour you will lead us in your Way; you will teach us your Truth; and you will share with us your very life; so that your name may be honored, our lives may be enriched, and your world, through us, may be blessed. Amen.
Confession
Heavenly Father, we confess that we have been blind to the divine presence in our midst. We have been searching for you, yes groping for you, and have failed to realize that you are not far from us. Open our eyes, Lord, that we may see you all about us in your creation, and sense your very presence in our lives. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
We are concerned, Father, that our children and grandchildren will be instructed in the faith, that this church will have a dynamic witness in this community, and that the poor and needy around the world will know that Jesus lives. Because of these concerns, and of others, we present these gifts. Amen.
Hymns
"I Sing The Almighty Power Of God"
"Sing Praise To God Who Reigns Above"
"Rise, Shine, You People"
