Second Sunday Of Easter
Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: The Doubter
Call To Worship
Leader: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
People: His steadfast love endures forever.
Leader: It is better to take refuge in the Lord,
People: than to put confidence in mortals.
Leader: Let those who are wise give heed,
People: and consider the steadfast love of the Lord.
Invocation
O Lord, our God, Easter has come, and the hallelujahs have been drowned out by the cries of the world. We believe in the risen Christ, but we cry out, "Help thou our unbelief." We come this morning for that reassurance that will enable us to shout with Thomas, "My Lord and my God!" Amen.
Confession
O God, forgive us we pray for our doubts and our wavering beliefs. Strengthen our faith and keep us constantly aware of your abiding presence that we might know your peace that passes understanding. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O Lord, our God, send down your Holy Spirit upon us to cleanse our hearts, hallow our gifts, and perfect the offering of ourselves, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hymns
"He Is Lord"
"Crown Him With Many Crowns"
"All Hail The Power Of Jesus' Name"
