Call To Worship
Let me tell you a story, one that will tug at your heart, one that will rouse your sense of justice, one that will cause you to tower and rage in righteous zeal. Let me tell you about a precious lamb, loved and cherished as a child, stolen by a thoughtless, rich neighbor. Let me show you the culprit. Hold up this mirror. Then come before your Lord with humility, begging for grace.
Collect
There is no mystery, Omniscient God. We come before you as sinners. We pray for your forgiveness. We trust in your mercy. We praise you for your grace. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession (Psalm 51:1-6)
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment.
Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me.
You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. Amen.
Hymns
Oh, How Deep Are The Riches Of Grace
I Will Sing Of My Redeemer

Second Lesson: Ephesians 4:1-16
Theme: One Body And One Spirit
Call To Worship (Psalm 68:18-20)
You ascended the high mount, leading captives in your train and receiving gifts from people, even from those who rebel against the Lord God's abiding there.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah.
Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belongs escape from death.
Collect
Lord of life, grant us gifts, grant us grace, according to your measure and not our own. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession (Ephesians 4:4-6)
(Unison) There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. Amen.
Hymns
All Praise To Our Redeeming Lord
There Are Many Gifts
'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
Proper 13 / Ordinary Time 18

Gospel Lesson: John 6:24-35
Theme: Lively Bread
Call To Worship
One:
Come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant.
All:
Our Savior lives! Our joy is never out of season!
Collect (John 6:27)
All:
[Jesus said] "Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal." Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord of life, we receive you as king. We prepare a room in our hearts for you, a place where all of your people are welcome as well. Truly this is the gate of heaven, though we don't always know it, nor do we show it as openly as we should. Rule our world with truth and grace, let the wonders of your love reign sovereign in our lives as we strive to follow your good news of joy and light! Though the world struggles with strife, yet we proclaim joy into the hollow darkness, daring those who are deceived to follow us into the light. May your name be ever praised. Amen.
