Call To Worship
Leader: God is in charge. God raised Jesus. This is Easter.
People: God, who is the savior of all, accepts us and brings us hope through Easter.
All: All praise to God. Christ our Savior is risen today.
Collect
On this day, O triumphant Savior, hope becomes more than hype. More than an extravagant claim, hope becomes a new way of meeting each day. Thank you, God, for the gift of hope. Through Jesus the Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
As independent and self-directing as we are, O God, we must wait the long wait for you to raise us. It may not be today. Today, we may be quiet under burdens and only mouth the hymns of joy. While we wait for hope to defeat hopelessness, let the message and spirit of the Easter hymns seep in and begin the turnaround of our souls. Through Christ. Amen.

Theme: And
Call To Worship
Leader: Christ died for our sins, and . . .
People: He was buried
Leader: And . . .
People: He was raised on the third day
Leader: And . . .
People: He appeared to the disciples and beyond that
Leader: And . . .
People: He appears to you and to me.
All: And, we say praise to our risen Savior!
Collect
Not only did you die for our sins, Jesus, but you also were buried and raised on the third day. Then you carefully made sure that those who followed you saw that you had risen and recognized you. And to us today who believe in you, O Christ, you also find ways of making your presence known. We believe. We rejoice. Praise be to you, O Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Your coming as the Resurrected Christ was long ago, O God, and yet Easter comes anew today. Renew our faith so we might live as people of faith. Strengthen our belief so it might radiate your presence for others. Refill our reservoirs of hope so we might persevere. Through Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Easter (Resurrection Of Our Lord)
Gospel: Mark 16:1-8
Theme: Do Not Be Alarmed
Call To Worship
Leader: Today is the day to sing.
People: Christ is risen!
Leader: The great surprise, the empty tomb.
People: Christ is risen!
Leader: From now on, all is different. Today is Easter Day.
All: Jesus Christ is risen today!
Collect
We come to the tomb, like the women, prepared to do the one expected task, then find everything changed forever. Guide us, O God, as we also struggle to sort out amazement from fear and discover rejoicing. For Christ is risen. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Our heads are in such a muddle at times, O God, that we run from the tomb like Salome and the two Marys. We fail to comprehend. We do not believe or cannot believe what we see. So new is the idea of Easter entering our lives that approaching the tomb with hope does not occur to us. Open our hearts to belief as you opened the door of the tomb. Amen.

"O Sons And Daughters, Let Us Sing" Tune: O FILII ET FILIAE
"From All That Dwell Below The Skies" Tune: LASST UNS ERFREUEN or OLD HUNDREDTH
