God uses our weakness to reflect his power and witness. As a boy, I recall watching
George Reeves play the comic book character "Superman." He was famous and a symbol
of strength. In real life, however, he became depressed with age that he could not really
perform those fantastic feats. His latter years resulted in depression and a mysterious
death. Some think he committed suicide, others believe he was murdered
mysteriously.
A second "Superman" character I recall is Christopher Reeve. In 1995, he was thrown from a horse in an accident. He became a quadriplegic. He used his weakness to encourage others to take risks in life. Reeve and his wife became champions for spinal cord research to help others who were paralyzed. This might be an example of God using weakness to point to a greater witness as Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 12.
