I can't either!
I can't grasp being at one with God either. How can anyone think this passage through and say they can? Our own Lord (God himself) could not think out the process. So he acted it out. Lived it out. Spoke it out. Heard it out. BUT he didn't think it out.
In human terms, this was sung out by the Sisters of a Convent while pondering the postulate of Maria. Their perplexity sounded like this:
"How do you solve a problem like Maria?"
"How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?"
"How do you find a word that means Maria?"
"How do you keep a wave upon the sand?"
"How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?"
Since a human personality cannot be grasped in such magnificent a musical as The Sound of Music, does it not stand to reason that we cannot grasp the understanding of God and Jesus being One?
Hurrah for faith!
