The wisdom of God is...

The wisdom of God is in all creation, and it is revealed in so many ways. On retreat, I watched a huge pine tree. I'd seen such trees before, but this one sat in the middle of my view of the ocean.
As I saw the tree swaying in a rather stiff breeze, I thought that it had little faith, for it moved so easily with every breath of wind. It answered me, by pointing out that the movement helped it to adjust and see, but that the trunk the main stay of the tree would not be moved. It knew where it was, and it continued to block my view of the ocean.
The tree pointed out that God in infinite wisdom had given her long roots, a system that kept her anchored and fed. Even when the visible forces above pushed and pulled, she was nourished and continued to reach out and expand. She sat in front of my view growing where God had planted her.
Our roots extend through the years of learning and our own living, and they go deep often beyond our own understanding. It was in the wisdom of God that we were created, and brought to grow upon the earth to live and serve where we are planted.
