A conservative member of the...
A conservative member of the British parliament, Neil Marten, was giving a group of his constituents a guided tour of the chambers where English law is made. During the visit they happened to meet Lord Hailsham, then lord chancellor. He was wearing all the regalia of his office. Hailsham recognized Marten among the group of visitors and instinctively cried out, "Neil!" Taking it as a command, Marten's constituents immediately fell to their knees.
