Living together in harmony with...

Living together in harmony with those who have different opinions than ours is essential in community and church. Moshe J. Yeres of the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education in the Diaspora, lists several reasons why the study of the Talmud is important in Jewish schools. Yeres argues that through the study of the Talmud, students learn to understand differing viewpoints, how to argue for their own position while at the same time respecting the views of others. Yeres states, "One who has the ability to understand an opposing view is in much better position to coexist with it, even while disagreeing with it."
Paul's Jewish training comes through in suggesting that we respect the differing opinions of others.
