When Moses died on the top of Mount Nebo, with the vision of the promised land spread out before him, the dream of the promised land could have died with him. But it did not. For Moses, who had received the story from the elders who had learned it from their elders, had handed on the story of faith to yet another generation, and they in turn handed it on to another, and another. God has placed in the possession of today's church a vision of a world yet to come. Whether that vision is called the promised land, the kingdom of God, or the reign of heaven, matters very little.
