A father wanted to buy...

A father wanted to buy his teenage children the newest computer games that were being heavily advertised on the television since all of their friends seemed to own them. Imagine the father's disappointment when he was told that his company is going to cut back due to low sales and corporate downsizing. His hours will be decreased and he should consider himself lucky to still have a job! Now he must convince his children they should be happy that they have a roof over their heads and food on the table, but to understand that the money for Christmas will be tight this year. He suggested that they focus on the real meaning of Christmas.
The teens did not react positively. They got mad and pouted! It wasn't long until some people in their church got wind of this situation. So, while the family did not get the new computer games the kids were hoping for, they were the recipients of the local church ministerial association's anonymous "adopt a family" gift program. Everybody in this family got one gift that they requested, even though they did not get all that the television commercials say they "must have." They can still rejoice in Titus' proclamation that they are part of a greater kingdom and heirs to an authentic hope of eternal life.
