If adults are alert, children can tell them a great deal about eternal verities I especially like the story about the little fellow who referred to the man in the pulpit as God.
Upon returning from Sunday morning worship with his mother, little three-year-old Tommy sat in his rocker looking wistfully out the window. He and his mother attended a small church; a nursery during the service had never come into being. In fact, there were times that he was virtually the only one under school age.
His mother caught his interesting stare and wondered what was up. He didn't talk much, at least not in anything remotely resembling complete thoughts. She began also to look out of the window.
Soon she said, "Well, my son, that big tree is probably one you will climb someday. God has given it to us for shade and beauty." He only replied, "Saw God at church. Read from big book. Him, noisy, Mom."
