The room in Lilian's home...

The room in Lilian's home was filled with trophies, ribbons and photographs chronicling her accomplishments as a champion horsewoman. As a youngster, she had developed her passion for horses into finely honed skills as a rider and horse trainer. Using extraordinary discipline and hard work to learn and incorporate new techniques into her riding and training, she came to dominate most of the major riding competitions in Europe by the time she reached her early 20s.
When she came to the United States as a newlywed, she began to suffer some back pain which severely limited her participation in any jumping competitions. Realizing her days of competition were fast coming to a close, she could have decided to sit back and admire her tremendous accomplishments and live the sedate life of a well-to-do former champion.
But, instead, she chose to pass on her knowledge and wisdom by opening a school for young riders. Soon she found herself to be the premier instructor in the sport which she loved and in which she had excelled. So, the admiration and respect of her students were yet two more rewards for her knowledge and wisdom which she had disciplined herself to attain.
