Jesus touches a child at death's door and he is healed. A woman who has suffered for 12 years a hemorrhage that no doctor can heal, touches the hem of the garment of Jesus and is healed. In gratitude she falls at the Master's feet. But Jesus makes the astounding reply. "It was your faith that healed you."
Indeed, in his native town of Nazareth where he was recognized merely as the son of the carpenter, we read that he could do no mighty works there.
Does our faith, and that alone, heal? But what of the true believers from Job of ancient time to the passing of a beloved one after a long illness? Has his hand lost its ancient touch?
