During the summer months, storms...

During the summer months, storms will move through the midwest periodically. Anyone who has seen a lake after a storm, knows the changes it creates on the water. Loose lake weeds, dead fish, and refuse are common. The restless waters are temporarily rendered useless for swimming or fishing because of their muddy, unsettled consistency. In a particular striking image, Isaiah describes the wicked like such waters, which "toss up mire and dirt." Distressed waters in the land of Israel must have been particularly troublesome in areas which are often arid.
