Susie enjoyed being in the kindergarten class very much. Even though she was only five years old, the class sessions were very meaningful to her. She especially liked the large picture of Christ and the Children which hung on the wall near her table. As it depicted Jesus sitting in the midst of some small children, it reminded her of his love for her.
The minister came to the classroom one Sunday to visit. He sat on one of the small chairs, and lifted one of the children onto his knee. The others gathered round as he told them them a story.
That day at dinner Susie told her parents, "Jesus came to visit our class today." The surprised parents asked for some details, and learned that the visitor was the minister. Susie told them that the visitor looked like Jesus, except that he didn't have a beard and his hair wasn't as long as it was in the picture on the wall.
One wonders how many other children in the class that Sunday thought that the visitor was Jesus. There was certainly good Christian fellowship between the visitor and the members of the class. They liked him very much, especially as he inspired them by the story he told.
There was a renewal of Christian felIowship in another room years ago when Jesus entered it and met with his disciples following his resurrection. He inspired them not only by what he said, but by the very fact that he was again alive. He had conquered death and was truly the promised Messiah and the Son of God.
