This poem at the end of the book of Proverbs speaks of the characteristics of a perfect wife. It is an alphabetical poem, with each line beginning with a consecutive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It reminds me of the game we played as children, counting the buttons and snaps on our clothes to tell us of the husband we were sure to marry: "Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, doctor, lawyer, merchant, chief, tinker, tailor, cowboy, sailor ...." -- Winifred
