In his book, Night, Elie Wiesel tells the following story about an incident that took place in a German concentration camp during World War II. A young boy of 10 or 11 was suspected of sabotage by the S.S. The little boy along with the two men were tried and condemned to be hanged. The three were led up the gallows and the nooses placed around their necks. The whole camp was forced to watch. Suddenly the trap doors were sprung and the three bodies fell through. The men died instantly, but because the child was so light his neck was not broken and he slowly strangled to death. As the little body moved and convulsed at the end of the rope one of those watching cried out, "Where is God in this? Where is God in all of this?" Another prisoner answered, "God is in the boy!"
