One morning as a minister...

One morning as a minister arrived at his church, he became aware of a commotion across the street at a church member's house. He saw his member talking with police officers. So he went over to see if he could be of help. When he got there, he discovered the man was trying to persuade the police that he really lived in that house. You see, his wife had Alzheimer's disease. When he went out that morning to get the paper, she locked all the doors and called 911 to get help. She reported that a stranger was trying to break into the house. After the minister assured the police that the man did indeed live there, he took his parishioner aside to comfort him. The man stood there, eyes downcast, shaking his head and saying, "After 39 years of marriage, she doesn't even remember me." What a tragedy. What a sad thing not to be remembered by the ones you love. We will not allow that to happen to Christ. -- Welborn
