As a child, I can remember going through the cafeteria line at elementary school. There was a poster on the wall with the old basic four food groups (since replaced with the food pyramid). At the bottom it said, "You are what you eat." Maybe you didn't know about cholesterol and saturated fats, but somehow we intuitively knew that peaches were better for you than potato chips, and that if "you are what you eat" is true, then you were better if you ate more peaches and less potato chips. It made us think about our lunch selections a little bit more carefully.
