Don`t be afraid. I...

"Don`t be afraid. I`ll catch you.
"It`s too far. I can`t do it. Jimmy had all he could do to hold on to the branch. Climbing the tree was easy and fun, while it lasted. But now, he was afraid and he froze. Only his voice covered the distance from his precarious perch to where his dad was raking leaves in the front yard.
"Help, he cried out in a mixed tone, resonating both a dread of rescue and a desire for rescue.
Coming around the side of the house, Dad saw his son`s predicament. He had told Jimmy not to climb the tree, but kids will be kids. The thought of leaving him up there for a while longer disappeared when he saw the fear in Jimmy`s eyes. Stretching out his arms, he told Jimmy to let go of the branch and drop down. "I`ll catch you, he promised.
Jimmy felt the hard bark against his arms and chest and thighs and ankles. He looked down and saw his dad`s outstretched arms. To cling tighter onto his fear or to leap into the promise of his dad`s words: this was not an easy decision for a seven-year-old to make.
He closed his eyes and rolled under the branch, hanging like a possum before he let go, screaming all of those five feet into his father`s waiting grasp.
Faith is falling into the hands of the living God, who promises to do for us exactly what he said he would do. Abraham believed, and God was able to do right by him. God`s rightness was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.
