Several years ago in Rumania, there was a woman who fainted when she opened her front door and found her husband standing there. Three days earlier that man had choked on a fishbone, had stopped breathing, and collapsed. When the family doctor arrived, he knew that the man had a weak heart, so right away the doctor assumed that he was dead. But the gravediggers at the cemetery heard the sound of someone knocking on wood. When they rushed to open the man's coffin, they found that he was still alive. In these stories about healing, a common theme is the hope that is there despite the apparent finality of the present problem. --Bowen
