A weekday enrichment class had just finished their lesson on the importance of prayer. One little girl was new to the program and listened intently when the teacher talked about praying at mealtimes. Most of the children came from active Christian homes and knew how to pray. The teacher asked if any student would like to say "grace" before they went to eat dinner. All hesitated and then declined the offer. Sensing her opportunity to put into practice what she had just studied, the unchurched young girl volunteered. With all heads bowed and all eyes closed, the young girl with a very reverent sounding voice said: "Grace." The class immediately erupted with laughter. The experienced teacher seized the moment and talked about the importance of keeping the Word of God and being a witness to others. The teacher then thanked the young person who was trying to respond to God's love in Christ. The Holy Spirit keeps giving us teachable moments in life in which we, too, can share Christ with others. -- Reisen
