I can remember when slow...
Illustration
I can remember when "slow as Christmas" was an insult and if someone said, "What are you waiting for, Christmas?" they wanted you to hurry up.
I'm sure there are some here who still say, "I just can't wait until Christmas gets here!"
Of course, there are many things in life like that. Children often say, "I can't wait for Christmas, or my birthday, or for school to get out, or for Grandma to visit, or the next dance, or to get my driver's license, or to get my own apartment, or whatever." It's part of being young.
