Not too long ago I overheard a discussion between two 10-year-old boys, Eric and Ben. Apparently Ben had just been given a new game for his Nintendo and Eric was really impressed.
"Wow!" Eric exclaimed. "You mean your parents just gave you a new game and it wasn't Christmas or your birthday or something? How did you work that?"
"It was easy," Ben bragged. "I did the same thing when I got my skateboard."
"That's neat," Eric replied. "But what did you do?"
"I just asked and asked. I asked them until they got so sick of hearing me ask that they gave in and bought it."
"Are you sure that's all you did? You didn't do extra chores, or baby sitting or something?"
"I don't have to do any of that stuff."
"Are you sure?"
"Yep!" Ben said. "I just ask and ask and ask. It works for me every time."
