Isaiah describes a new leader who will bring permanent peace. Yet, the chance of such a ruler arising is the same as a lamb bounding around a lazy wolf or a wobbly newborn calf standing safely beside a yawning lion.
Near Israel's northern coast, a Protestant village was established in 1963 named "Nes Ammim," the Hebrew from verse 11, meaning, "a signal to the peoples/nations." The settlers realized that Christian anti-Semitism contributed to the Nazis' slaughter of Jews. Their goal was to help people live in peace.
