Jesus proclaims a principle of how life operates naturally as well as how God's kingdom
works supernaturally, "Whoever is faithful in very little is faithful also in much." I started
Clark Community College with Velda Sutton. She was older than I and had a family. I
was impressed to know that she worked as a teacher's aide and drove a school bus. She
and I both transferred to and graduated from the University of Portland. She became a
middle school teacher. In a few years, she became a high school teacher, then an assistant
principal, principal, and she retired as assistant to the superintendent of schools in
Battleground, Washington.
Velda Sutton proved herself not only capable, but faithful, and was given further responsibilities. Life generally works that way, and in Jesus' kingdom the further responsibilities come with the promise of greater spiritual blessings.
