Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Paper or craft foam in a variety of colors
Markers
Stickers
Other decorating materials
Razor knife (used by an adult only)
Scissors
Plastic hangers (one per child)
Fishing line
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a piece of colored paper and have them fold it in half.
2. With the fold at the top, have them write, "My favorite things" on it. Have them repeat on the other side. Let them decorate these as they wish.
3. Have an adult use a razor knife and carefully cut a slit along the fold so that the paper can slip over the hanger's hook.
4. Have each of the children make a cross from colored paper and write "Jesus" on it.
5. Have the children draw pictures of some of their favorite things on other sheets of paper.
6. Ask the children to cut out all of their things and decorate as they wish.
7. Cut a length of fishing line for each item drawn and tie it to the hanger.
8. Cut a longer length of line for the cross and tie it to the center of the hanger so that the other things are shorter and surrounding it.
9. Remind the children that Jesus is the center of their lives and their most favorite thing!
