Proclaiming The Beloved... Or The Frontrunner
This week the 2012 presidential campaign begins in earnest as voters in Iowa and New Hampshire actually cast ballots for their preferred choices. The candidates have already spent vast amounts of time and money in those states pitching themselves and their credentials -- touting their own records and highlighting their opponents' shortcomings. For the candidates and their campaign staffs, the overriding objective is to get voters energized and to sell themselves... which is not unlike the task facing Jesus as he begins his ministry.
