In WWII, Nora Lam's family fled from Japanese-occupied China. After 37 days and
1,500 miles, they crawled across no-man's-land to Free China. More difficulties
awaited.
After the communist takeover of China, she and her family underwent horrible

firing squad, but no bullets hit her. Later, she was forced to difficult physical labor while
again pregnant. Finally, she was able to emigrate from Red China. More difficulties
awaited. While living in America, she divorced her abusive husband.
