Wouldn't it be good to have a priest, an intermediary who pleads our needs to God who is always available? There was a wrecker service in Georgia that was available 23 and a half hours per day. Available 23 and a half hours -- great! But no one knew when that other half-hour was! Jesus, we proclaim in the Apostles' Creed, is seated at the right hand of God and intercedes for us (see Romans 8:33). As Hebrews puts it, "[Jesus] always lives to make intercession to God for [those who approach God through him]" (7:25b).
