When the Berlin Wall was constructed in the heat of the Cold War, there was left standing a simple church in the midst of "no man's land," dividing East from West. The name of the lone edifice surrounded by mine fields and barbed wire was "Church of the Reconciliation." It stood as a poignant judgment against the dividing wall of hostility that existed between the peoples of Germany. Now that the Berlin Wall has been broken down and the country reunited, the church stands as a prophetic symbol of the work of Christ to end hostilities between humanity and God, so that we might no longer be strangers to one another, but one in him, reconciled in the blood of Christ. -- Molldrem
