What's Ee-pip-an-ee...
Illustration
"What's Ee-pip-an-ee?" the little girl asks as she leaves the church. She is expressing a common question during this time of Christmas decorations, Santa Clauses, and Christ's birth. Unfortunately, the question cannot be answered so simply or quickly in the space it takes to shake a hand.
Epiphany is a Greek word for "appearance" or "manifestation." It occurs on the anniversary (January 6) of the arrival of the wise men at the stable manger so long ago. It represents the miracle of the journey of the wise men and the knowledge God gave them to find and worship the Christ Child.
