We have all heard the proverb: "People who live in glass houses should never throw stones." It is easy for us to surround ourselves with a veneer of religious principles, condemning others who appear to violate our criteria of right and wrong. The problem with this way of thinking is eventually someone will come along and start throwing rocks at us, breaking the protection that exposes us for what we are.
Was Jesus too soft on the woman caught in sin? In fact, he was easy on her accusers, even though they were deceptive and playing God. He was sympathetic with the woman, but also very demanding, "Go about your business of living and never again commit such an evil thing." What would the Lord say to us today?
