At a Veteran's Day event...
At a Veteran's Day event at an elementary school, a student asked the aged soldier why
he fought in the war when he knew that he might get wounded or killed. The soldier
answered quietly, "I didn't do it for glory or praise. I didn't do it because my parents
asked me to, and I certainly didn't do it for fun. Rather, I did it knowing that the work
would be painful and bloody. I did it for my children who weren't even born yet. I did it
for you. I did it because my country needed me."
Paul shared the good news with the Thessalonians not for glory but because God called
him.
