Tim had this fascinating idea for a screenplay. He shared the idea with some of his friends and they all liked it. In fact, some of his former writing instructors in school thought it was good enough to make it onto the big screen. The outline of his idea was this: A supernatural being comes down to earth and takes on the look of a human being. Some people might want to call him an angel, but he has not quite made the grade yet ... he's just a little lower than that in the supernatural classification system. As an ordinary-looking human being, he takes on odd jobs, mainly working with his hands. He becomes pretty popular because he is such a good listener and a spell-binding storyteller. At parties people seem to gravitate toward him. He can't help but notice that one of the most troubling aspects of these humans is their struggle with death. Most fear it. Some deserve it early for the kind of depraved lives they lead. Others who live exemplary lives are struck down in the prime of their lives. Many are mystified by the seemingly capricious timing of death. But most of all, he is deeply saddened by the tremendous grief that comes to people who are touched by death. Because of his growing attachment to human beings, he consults with his heavenly superiors to discover a way he can save his new friends from the finality of death. He is told that he can accomplish this task by experiencing death himself. In so doing his friends will find that death does not mark the end of life, but simply indicates a change to a new chapter of life. The screenplay ends with the human beings celebrating their new-found knowledge concerning the extension of life beyond the grave. Whenever Tim takes his screenplay idea before various movie producers, they invariably ask, "Where did you get such an idea for a movie?" His response has always been, "From three verses in the Bible -- Hebrews 2:9-11." -- Thompson
