Those were exceedingly significant words Jesus spoke to the Greeks. Words whose impact cannot be measured. Why, some have said one of the Greeks was a doctor of medicine who became enamored of this Nazareth intinerant teacher, later wrote a short book about him, and was the personal physician and traveling companion of the great missionary Paul. Whether or not that stands the test of historical scrutiny, Jesus' conversation with the Greeks was a monumental one.
And thank God for the guy who brought the Greeks to Jesus. We don't see him much in the gospel record but everytime we do he's bringing someone to Jesus. His own brother and what a good day's work that was. The lad with the lunch. And the Greeks.
Andrew made his time count. He brought high quality to his actions. He understood the eternal importance of evangelism.
Moishe Rosen, founder of Jews for Jesus, introduced his wife, Ceil, to a congregation by saying, "Ceil is not much of a soul-winner. The only folks she has ever won to Christ are her daughters and me." How reminiscent of Andrew and how challenging to us.
