Susan Stevens was getting married...

Susan Stevens was getting married. After graduating from high school and earning a business college diploma, she had worked three years, saving what money she could for something very special later. She felt now that this was that something special, her wedding. Roger was a fine young man; the two years of their courtship had been a joyous time, the love between them growing into a beautiful thing. Now Susan was preparing for a wedding in keeping with the relationship it represented.
As she went about spending large sums for clothes and flowers and music, her practical-minded mother said, "Susan, is all this really necessary?" And Susan said, "No, mother, it isn't. But never in my life will I do anything more important than this, and I want it to be special."
Well, moving that ark to Jerusalem was for David an event of paramount importance, and he wanted it to be special. He really didn't need more than a dozen men, but he took 30,000! And he picked the very best ones. Any old cart would do as a transport vehicle, but he had a new one made, and he selected the country's best craftsman to make it. The procession was one attended by ritual and music and fanfare. None of this was necessary; but by doing the unnecessary David was making a statement to all Israel and the world: This ark is important to me; it speaks of the presence of God; and I want it near me in Jerusalem.
