A story is told of a man whose wife was a fanatically religious woman who despised doctors, but believed God would personally heal all ailments. The husband became quite ill and asked his wife to drive him to the hospital. She refused and instead insisted he go to her church and have the elders pray with him. The man refused and ultimately collapsed. Fortunately a neighbor came by, and, over the wife's objections, drove the suffering man to the hospital.
