Sometimes a great treasure is lost when we fail to realize the value.
About 100 years ago, a man living in Africa received a package from his home community in England. The man to whom it was sent refused to pay the delivery charge so it was consigned to the delivery office as a foot stool for fourteen years. When the man to whom it was addressed died, it was placed on his estate auction. One curious man placed a low bid on it, and it was his. He opened it and found that it contained several thousand pounds of sterling. The poor man to whom it was addressed, continued to live in poverty when awaiting him was a priceless treasure.
Isaiah 43:4 reminds us that in God's sight we are a precious treasure. He calls each of us by name, that we might fully be a child of God, a treasured part of his family.
