Sometimes fish are caught in unlikely places and by unlikely persons. Jesus indicates that this is also true in evangelism as we "catch" people while "fishing for men."
Working in the interior of Ethiopia in the 1930s a Protestant Mission Society managed to baptize a few people in the Wolamo tribe and arranged to have two converts start work in the neighboring Kembatta tribe as lay evangelists. Then the Italian invasion forced the foreigners to leave. When representatives of the society returned to Ethiopia after World War II, they found that those two men, together with a brother of one of them, had won about 50,000 Wolamos and Kembattas to faith in Christ. Today this number has grown to several hundred thousand converts!
