Some time ago my daughter...

Some time ago my daughter came to me and said, "Dad, could I do something to earn some money?" "Sure," I hesitated. "What do you want to do?" Putting her to work was not hard in a family of five. After awhile she came back and wanted her pay.
I had thought of something to make our arrangement a little more interesting. I had set out on the desk a fifty-cent piece, a dollar, and two dollars. I then said to her, "Pick up what you want to for the work that you did." She picked up the dollar.
"The two dollars," she responded.
"Why?" I questioned.
"But I wanted you to take all of the money: the fifty cents, the dollar, and the two dollars!"
Well, to say the least, we suffer from an expectancy of weakness and meekness in this country, as it is applied to our faith. We do not expect a miraculous God to intervene in our lives; we do not expect God to really speak to us. Remember the recent show "Oh God"? I asked many of my congregation if that show could ever be true.
