Sociologists regularly succumb to the temptation to treat religion in terms of sociology and politics. Ecclesiastical institutions are fair game for the sociologists who measure churches in terms of being either to the right or to the left. However, most sociologists are not in a position to make judgments, because very few of them understand that they are trying to chart a miracle. The community of faith in worship and discipline transcend the social and political strata of the world. What Christians confess is far more important than the observable consequences of what they confess. The apostles understand that. The apostle suggests further that the standards for Christian faith and behavior exceed the best expectations of the behaviorists.
