Setting the mind on things divine
The Sunday School teacher came up to me with a bit of a panicked looked in her face. The student from her second-grade class was following right behind. They were clearly on a mission. "Pamela has a question and I assured her you would have the answer," the teacher blurted it out as more of a request than a promise. I bent over to receive the child's question. "Where did God come from?" There was a certain intensity to her question. I explained that God has always been there and that God didn't come from anywhere. She didn't accept that and asked me if God had parents.
