"Set your minds on the things that are above." (Colossians 3:2a) Some Christians fear being "other worldly," because, to them, it means being unrealistic, impractical, irrelevant to life. That is not necessarily true. Have you ever known a kid who was described as one who eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball? I knew one years ago in school. You might think such concentration on a sport would unbalance the boy. Not so. He was a good student, since he knew he had to get good grades to stay on the team, and good grades would assist him in getting a scholarship to college. He did go to college and then to professional ball. Not a big star, but for some years, he made a good living for himself and his family. And, after his playing days were over, the discipline he had developed led him to a successful career in business. His mind being set on baseball, let him keep the rest of his life in good order, also.
